Since our inaugural event in 2017, we have always said that The Sun Run is “more than a 5k”. In 2024, that will literally be true and we invite you to experience The Sun Run re-imagined!
Presented by Walgreens, The Sun Run is set to take Forest Park by storm on October 13, 2024. Due to construction in the park this year, we are doing “MORE in ‘24”. This not-to-be-missed event promises MORE miles (a 6k and 1-mile course) and MORE fun for runners and non-runners of all ages!
The 6k run features chip-timing from Start 2 Finish St. Louis and the 1-mile offers a casual walk option. Every run/walk registrant will receive an official Sun Run t-shirt. Can’t make it to Forest Park? Virtual participation is also available!
**Deadline for virtual registration and guaranteed shirt sizes is Sunday, September 29.
We will maintain our tradition of having a robust Runners’ Village filled with local food and beverage vendors and entertainment galore. We will have a DJ, a juggler, face painters, balloon artists, bubble machines and lots of kids’ games and activities. MORE IN 2024 we are adding a Polar Palace experience! Finish your run or walk and cool off in Polar Palace, where you can enjoy some yummy frozen treats, hot cocoa, interaction with Elsa, Anna and Olaf and activities for the kids!

The Sun Run 6k and 1-mile walk supports the world-class pediatric health care provided every day at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. Race Info
- Runner's Village will be located at the Forest Park Festival and Parking Plaza. Street parking is available throughout Forest Park.
- Race Route options include a 1 mile or 6k (Click for a route map.)
- Registration Fee
- $30 for in-person participants Age 13+ (traditional swag pick up)
- $18 for in-person participants Age 12 and under (traditional swag pick up)
- $37.50 for virtual participant Age 13+ (mailed swag)
- $23.00 for virtual participant Age 12 and under (mailed swag)
- Registration Includes
- Sun Run t-shirt
- Access to the Sun Run fundraising platform
- Runner’s Village amenities, family-friendly activities and pre- and post-race entertainment for in-person participants
- Complimentary beverages and post-race food for in-person participants
- Important Dates:
- Sunday, Sept. 29: Virtual registration and guaranteed t-shirt size cut-off
- Sunday, Oct. 13, 11:59pm: Cut-off to earn incentive fundraising swag
- Packet Pick-Up will be available at the following dates, times & locations:
- SSM Health Mission Hill employees (Packet delivery only): Thursday, Oct. 10 Packet distribution TBD.
- SSM Health employees only: Friday, Oct. 11 from 11 am - 4 pm at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital – Ground Floor Atrium
- Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Fleet Feet Des Peres
- Sunday, Oct. 13 from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. in Runner’s Village at Forest Park
- Timeline
- 7:30 am – Day of Registration & Packet Pick-Up opens
- 8:30 am – Opening Remarks, Fundraising Recognitions and Pre-Race Warm-Up
- 9 am – 6k begins
- 9:10 am - 1-Mile Walk begins
- Post-Race – Awards Ceremony and Runner’s Village amenities/activities, food and beverage
